CFRAD

We started out as a group of concerned neighbours, living in The Kawartha’s where there is a huge limestone development proposed in our area. The Proposed 400 acre quarry is a class A, Category 4, crushed stone and Dimensional stone. Our Township approved this application.....9 of us are officially opposing it at the level of the Ontario Municipal Board beginning May 20, 2014.

We want to ensure that our environment including water, land and sound are being protected against Limestone Industrial development & ancillary operations. Our area is big, but our population is small as many of our residents are seasonal, so trying to bring awareness to this plight has been difficult.

We teamed up with the North Pigeon Lake Ratepayers Association and made delegations to both the local township and the County of Peterborough... Our pleas fell upon deaf ears.

This has brought us together as a group with a larger vision... Responsible Aggregate Development (CFRAD) to keep an eye on future development in the area. The website can be found at www.cfrad.com
